Oracle Fusion SCM

A Supply Chain That Holds Up After the Consultants Leave

Inventory, procurement, manufacturing and order management run as one connected system, or they run as four sets of workarounds. We design Fusion Cloud SCM around how your plants, warehouses and buyers actually operate, then stay until it runs that way.

One Flow, Not Six Modules

Supply chain projects are usually scoped module by module: inventory here, procurement there, order management next quarter. The build works in each silo and breaks at the seams: costing that doesn't tie out, receipts that don't match, planners who keep the real schedule in a spreadsheet. We scope SCM as one flow, from item master to cash, and design the handoffs first.

Our Oracle SCM Services

Full lifecycle support across Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM, from first implementation through ongoing managed services.

Inventory & Cost Management

Organization and subinventory structures, lot and serial control, cycle counting, and costing methods configured so financial and operational inventory tie out every period.

Procurement & Sourcing

Self-service procurement, purchasing, supplier qualification and contracts, with approval hierarchies buyers can actually work inside and supplier portal adoption planned as part of the project.

Manufacturing & Maintenance

Discrete and process manufacturing work definitions, shop floor execution, quality, and asset maintenance, configured with plant supervisors in the room, so routings match how the line really runs.

Order Management & Logistics

Order capture, pricing, global order promising, shipping and transportation, including B2B and third-party logistics interfaces that keep order status honest end to end.

Supply Chain Planning

Demand, supply and replenishment planning set up on data your planners trust, with the plan inputs and exception rules documented so the tool replaces the spreadsheet instead of sitting beside it.

Product Data & PLM

Item master design, item classes and catalogs, change orders and new product introduction, the foundation every other SCM module inherits, governed so it stays clean after cutover.

Why SCM Projects Stall, and How We Do It Differently

Where most SCM programs go wrong

  • Modules are implemented in isolation, so costing, receiving and fulfillment don't reconcile.
  • Item and supplier data is treated as a conversion task instead of a governance problem.
  • Plant and warehouse users see the system for the first time in UAT, then invent workarounds.
  • Delivery runs through rotating offshore resources with no continuity from design to hypercare.

How OnPlan runs SCM projects

  • We design the cross-module flow first (item to order to cost), then configure inside it.
  • Data governance is a staffed workstream, with ownership defined before cutover.
  • Operators and buyers test in their own scenarios, on their own calendar, well before go-live.
  • The senior consultants who design the solution build it and stay through hypercare.

How We Work

1

Discovery

We walk the plants and warehouses, map current flows, and test them against delivered Fusion SCM capability.

2

Design

Functional and technical leads design item, org and costing structures together, with finance in the room.

3

Configure & Integrate

We build close to standard and wire the integrations (B2B, 3PL, MES, shop floor) early enough to test properly.

4

Test & Train

Role-based training for buyers, planners and operators, plus conference room pilots on real transaction volume.

5

Go-Live & Support

Hypercare through the first close and the first full planning cycle, then managed services for the long run.

What Sets Us Apart

Cross-module by default

Consultants who work across inventory, procurement, manufacturing and finance, so the seams get designed instead of discovered.

Operations-floor change management

Training built for buyers, planners and shop floor users on shift, timed to when they actually need it.

Boutique, senior-staffed delivery

Project teams led by senior practitioners who stay on the engagement from design through hypercare.

Fixed-scope, transparent delivery

Clear scope and milestones from the start, so the timeline and budget hold. On plan, on time, on budget.

Manufacturing

April 2027 Go-Live: EBS to Fusion, Detroit Environmental Manufacturer

This client's EBS footprint included over 500 inventory orgs, a heavily customized intercompany process, and hundreds of approval rules. OnPlan redesigned the inventory and catalog structure, requisition business units, approvals hierarchy, and costing to ensure they capitalize on core Fusion features at go-live.

Distribution

Installation of Repair and Maintenance, Without Disrupting Store Operations

The client's existing footprint was implemented to support outsourced services. OnPlan worked within the existing financial footprint to introduce repair and maintenance functions for the in-house repair warehouse and employees, mirroring a custom solution for item creation and blanket purchase agreements to limit the change impact on the procurement team. New integrations kept field techs in their existing interface through go-live, reducing change management impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Fusion Cloud SCM different from the on-premise system we run today?+

Legacy environments (EBS, JD Edwards, or a mix of ERP plus bolt-on WMS and planning tools) usually depend on customizations and interfaces to keep inventory and costing aligned. Fusion Cloud SCM runs standard, connected processes across procurement, inventory, manufacturing and order management, so there is less custom code to maintain and one version of item, supplier and on-hand data.

How long does a typical Fusion SCM implementation take?+

A focused inventory, procurement and order management footprint at a single site can go live in well under a year. Multi-plant manufacturing, planning, and heavy B2B or 3PL integration extend that. We phase the timeline around your operating calendar (physical inventory, peak season, fiscal close) rather than a template plan.

We are already live on Fusion SCM. Can you fix what is not working?+

Yes. A large share of our SCM work is post-go-live remediation: reworking inventory organization and costing structures, cleaning up item and supplier data, repairing integrations, and getting adoption back on track where users have drifted to spreadsheets.

Do you handle SCM and Finance together?+

SCM decisions land in the general ledger, and costing, receipt accounting and intercompany rules only work when both sides are designed together. Our SCM and Finance consultants scope and deliver as one team.

Can you integrate third-party WMS, 3PL or B2B partners?+

Yes. We build and support integrations to third-party warehouse systems, logistics providers, trading partners and shop floor systems, so Fusion stays the system of record even where execution happens elsewhere.

What happens after go-live?+

We offer managed services for Fusion SCM environments: quarterly update review and regression testing, configuration change support, integration monitoring and issue resolution, so your team is not running a live Oracle environment alone.
